How are volcanoes formed?

A volcano is a hill or a mountain that has a crater at the top.

Lava, rock, gas and ashes come out of the crater. A volcano is formed when one of the tectonic plates pushes  down and it makes a weak spot in the Earths crust.  A  volcano has a magma chamber and the magma goes up the main vent and out of the crater and turns into lava. When the lava cools down it turns into rock. When the volcano keeps erupting it gets bigger and bigger.
